Foundry Kit

This equipment allows students to discover the basic rules of the process and the vocabulary associated with molding, by practicing gravity foundry activities in sand and metal shell molds. Educational Objectives: Characterize functional surfaces of joints, establish definition drawings, discover basic rules of the process and vocabulary associated with molding, establish rules for tracing a molded part.

• An internal sand core in synthetic sand
• A speed reducer

• A heating plate
• A container for melting metal (134°C)
• Two flasks
• Two positioning pins, two downsprues
• Molding tools (rammer, spatula), etc. - A video cassette on foundry.
